THE GULL

I see a gull, flying high,
Moving not across the sky,
Looking like it really tries,
And, yet, it’s standing still.

It’s trying hard to move along.
Something must be working wrong.
The wings appear so very strong,
And, yet, it’s standing still.

It flaps and flaps with the wind.
Suddenly, it seems un-pinned.
It moves. I think I see a grin.
Oh, my! It’s force of will.
